Before I get a bunch of angry comments, I want to say I’m aware that Linux powers all sorts of computers outside of the PC market, but this particular example was too, well, cool not to share. The MooBella is a Linux-powered ice cream maker currently being tested in New England. It’s not small enough to use at home, but the ice cream is reportedly pretty tasty.

The brain of the MooBella uses Red Hat running on pretty basic off-the-shelf hardware. It has a wireless connection for remote maintenance, and you order your ice cream on a 15″ touch screen. Even if you would never run Linux on your own PC, you have to admit it’s good for something. Check out a video of this sweet (har har) technology after the jump.
